Outside tap installation in Norwich & Norfolk
Want a proper tap in the garden? We install outside taps across Norwich and the surrounding Norfolk villages — copper runs, brass bib taps, and the internal isolation that keeps it all safe and serviceable. From a single tap by the back door to twin taps for the water butt and the pressure washer, small jobs are always welcome.
What you get
- A copper supply run to a sensible exit point on your outside wall
- Brass bib tap mounted on a wall-plate elbow
- WRAS-compliant backflow protection (double check valve) — required whenever a tap could be connected to a hose
- Full-bore isolation valve and drain-off fitted internally, so the tap can be turned off and drained for winter without going under the floor
- Pressure tested before we leave, and everything tidied
Why the valve matters
A garden tap is the one fixture in your house that regularly connects to a hose — and hoses can siphon water back into your drinking supply. That's why a double check valve is fitted on outside taps, and why we take the extra step of fitting full-bore isolation inside the house. Turn it off in winter, drain it down, and a frozen tap can't burst a pipe in your loft at 2am.
A recent job — twin taps in South Walsham
Typical of the kind of job we do every week: a customer wanted two outside taps on one wall — a standard bib tap for general use, and a second feed stubbed and capped ready for a future water-butt and irrigation setup. We ran twin copper feeds internally, fitted twin full-bore isolation with WRAS lever valves, mounted both outlets on brass wall-plate elbows, pressure tested, and left it tidy. Price agreed before any work started.
Areas we cover
Based in Norwich, we fit outside taps across the city and anywhere within about 30 miles — South Walsham, Acle, Wroxham, Reepham, Dereham, Long Stratton, Loddon, Beccles and the surrounding villages. We also cover Ipswich and south Suffolk.

Do outside taps need a double check valve?
Yes — any tap that could have a hose connected needs backflow protection. We fit a WRAS-compliant double check valve as standard.
Can you run the pipe from the kitchen or utility?
Usually yes — we pick the shortest sensible route, keep the run internal where possible, and insulate or drain-down anything exposed.
What happens in winter?
We fit full-bore isolation and a drain-off internally so you can turn the tap off and drain it before a freeze.
